BMSC 0 – George’s River 2

The game that could have been….We may have played the top of the table leaders, but BMSC matched it with them for good parts of the game. The opposition set up camp in our half for the first ten minutes, but we slowly started to gain confidence and put together some decisive, decent football. The opposition went up one nil after 25 minutes with a doubtful goal after bundling over Claude in a goal mouth skirmish and bumping the ball across the line.  We created some chance of our own, but most of them were long range efforts that missed the target. On the stroke of half time an intercept of one of our advances ended in a nicely taken second goal by the opposition and we were two down. BMSC came out swinging and we probably had the better half of the second half, although without benefit. In the end we couldn’t finish off our chances and ran out of time. But, overall, our best team performance in the past four weeks and enough good signs to take encouragement for the next rounds.

Having four subs again made a big difference to the team, so let’s keep this going.  Also, we should acknowledge Claude’s extra special effort in goals given his sad family news of the week; all the best to you and your family mate.
