U6W Bundeena- Maianbar Match Report
The enthusiasm and excitement was hard to contain it was on their faces and in their voices as they arrived at the ground for their first ever match. Jessica, Ella, Tayla, Corey and Stuart made up the team. On the field for the warm up there they stood all in baggy shirts and shorts, with over sized socks tucked into their boots, they were ready. The Bangor team were ready and eager too!! The whistle blew and there was a buzz, 8 pairs of legs eager to kick that ball. It was like a magnet they followed the ball all over the field. They kicked it, tackled and passed it well, listened to the ref as the whistle blew. There were plenty of goals for both sides with cheers of encouragement from the sidelines. Well done to our little champs Corey, Stuart, Tayla, Ella and Jessica. What a fabulous start to the season!! As a first time soccer parent I may be a little bias but I have to say that this was the cutest thing I have ever seen. It filled me with so much pride and joy to see our little ones running on that field as if they were veterans, fully prepared for the game ahead. They laughed and smiled and kept on running, always having fun, they all kept trying until it was over. It was fun for the kids to play and even more fun to watch!! A big thanks to coach Fiona for helping our team. When I asked my little one what was the best thing about soccer? He replied "The lollies Fiona bought us at the canteen!!" Well done boys and girls. See you next week!! Sonja Bell |
