BMSC Code of Conduct
Compliance with the Code of Conduct is a condition of membership of BMSC Inc

RATIONALE

The BMSC Code of Conduct has been developed in accordance with the expectations of the Sutherland Shire Junior Soccer Association, Good Sportsmanship and in conjunction with Community Standards by way of promoting, supporting and expanding the Game of Soccer.

MEMBERS CODE OF CONDUCT

THIS CODE APPLIES TO MEMBERS, THEIR FAMILIES AND OR GUESTS OF BMSC AT ANY GAME, AND ALL CLUB SPONSORED ACTIVITIES.

  • Abide by the rules of the game
  • Respect all decisions made by officials.  Never argue with the referee.
  • Control your temper.  No foul or verbal abuse.  Respect your opponents, yourself and your teammates.
  • Play the game to the best of your ability.
  • Applaud all good plays whether by your team or the opposition.
  • Represent your community in a loyal way- co-operate with your teammates and your coach.
  • Treat all players in a way you would like to be treated. Bullying (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated.
  • The winning is in taking part.  Always play to enjoy yourselves and your team’s achievements.
  • Players who fail to comply with the rules outlined in the Code of Conduct may also jeopardise the BMSC position in relation to sponsorship. 

EXPECTATIONS

  •  Players are to respect other team-mates, parents and officials at all times
  • Players are to be mindful of their behaviour at all times and demonstrate consideration towards others. Remember you are always representing your club.
  • Bad and offensive language will not be accepted or tolerated.
  • When fundraising activities are held players need to be mindful that they at all times represent their club and therefore are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.
  • When players are dressed in team colours and strip remember that the BMSC has an expectation as a representative, of exemplary behaviour.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

  • Any player who commits an act of violence whilst representing BMSC –will be expelled from BMSC
  • Any player who breaks the law whilst representing BMSC – will be expelled from BMSC
  • Any player wilfully damaging property whilst representing BMSC– will be expelled from BMSC
  • Any junior player who is rude and disrespectful – parents will be contacted
  • Any player who does not comply with the above expectations – parents will be contacted and one of the following penalties may be applied by the Committee:
  1. One match suspension
  2. A strike (three strikes you’re out)
  3. Exclusion from social activities
  • All examples of non acceptable behaviour will result in the player and or parents being brought before the BMSC disciplinary committee
  • Players who fail to comply with the Code of Conduct and directly affect the BMSC Sponsorship Agreement will be subject to BMSC’s disciplinary Committee’s whose decision and may result in a player’s expulsion.

PARENTS’ BEHAVIOUR CODE

FOR ALL PARENTS ATTENDING BMSC MATCHES.

  • Focus on your child’s efforts and performance rather than the overall result.
  • Teach children that an honest effort is as important as victory, so that a loss in a game is accepted, without undue disappointment.
  • * Encourage children to always participate according to the rules.
  • * Children learn by example- applaud good plays by all teams.
  • * Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by spectators, coaches, officials or players.
  • Be mindful of how your behaviour reflects BMSC
  • Support your Clubs, teams and child’s fundraising efforts and remember that you to are a representative of the clubs on such occasions.
  • Remember that children are involved in organised sport for their enjoyment not yours


COACHES & MANAGERS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Coaches and managers are responsible for the behaviour of their team members and must lead by example.
  • Abide by the rules of the game
  • Respect all decisions made by officials.  Never argue with the referee.
  • Control your temper.  No foul or verbal abuse.  Respect your opponents, yourself and your players.
  • The winning is in taking part.  Always encourage your players to enjoy themselves and their achievements.
  • Coaches & Managers are to be mindful of their behaviour at all times and demonstrate consideration towards others. Remember you are always representing your club.
  • Bad and offensive language will not be accepted or tolerated. Bullying (verbal or physical) will not be tolerated.
  • No Coach or Manger is permitted to Smoke whilst training or coaching their team or in the presence of children.
