Round 1 - W16B vs. Menai Hawks          0:3

The first game of the 2008 season. The girls ventured to Buckle Reserve for an 8:40 start. We welcomed Caitlin back to the team, and she proved a great asset.

We only had 10 girls in the team this morning, so Erin and Naomi helped us out.

The first half began with Erin in goals and helping in the backs were Lauren, Tanara Gail and Paige. We were in Menai's half for a lot of the first half. Kate, Megan, Taylor and Anita all came very close to scoring a goal. We had several corners but just couldn't  kick the ball in. The menai goalie had a lot of work to do.

Twenty minutes in and Menai on the attack kicked (almost their first opportunity) and the ball crossed the line. This fired up Menai, and their spectators, and they kept up the attack. Another loose ball and Menai got to it before us.

At half time it was 0:2

The second half was just as tough and our girls exhausted kept going. Tanara was in goals and as usual worked hard and saved several goals. Charlotte made many great clearing kicks and almost scored from half way. Menai scored another goal in the second half, which just couldn't be stopped.

Well done girls, we lost 3:0 but you all did a great job.

We will be welcoming back next week- Ellen and Rebecca . They will be joining us from the W15B's  giving us 12 players.
